Light and Dark Mode

Switch TPTM between Light, Dark, and System color scheme, where the theme toggle lives, and why report and portal links and printed pages are always light.

Overview

TPTM supports Light mode, Dark mode, and a System option that matches your device automatically. This is sometimes called dark mode, light mode, night mode, or a color scheme or theme toggle — this article covers all three options and where to find the switch.

Where is the toggle?

The color scheme control is a small row of three icons at the bottom of the left sidebar, just above the organization switcher. Hover over any icon to see its name. If the sidebar is collapsed to its narrow icon-only view, the toggle shrinks down to a single icon in that same spot.

How to change your color scheme

  1. Look at the bottom of the left sidebar for the three-icon toggle.

  2. Click the icon for the option you want: the monitor icon for System, the sun icon for Light, or the moon icon for Dark.

  3. The app switches immediately. Your choice is remembered the next time you open TPTM in this browser.

What each option does

  • System (the default): TPTM follows your device's own light or dark setting, and switches automatically if you change that setting on your device while TPTM is open.

  • Light: Always shows the light appearance, regardless of your device setting.

  • Dark: Always shows the dark appearance, regardless of your device setting.

ℹ️ Note: Your color scheme choice is saved in the browser you're using, not on your TPTM account. If you sign in on another computer or browser, you'll need to choose it again there.

Report and portal links are always light

Some TPTM pages are made to be shared outside the app — the ones you send as a link, print, or reach by scanning a QR code. These always open in the light appearance, for everyone:

  • Printable reports, including a trade partner's Task List, Tasks by Lot, and Schedule Calendar reports

  • Community and lot task reports

  • The lot page you land on after scanning a lot's QR code, and the printable QR code sheet

  • Printable work orders

  • The Trade Partner Portal

  • The community timeline you share with buyers

This is on purpose, not a setting that got missed. Anyone can open these links — trade partners, buyers, people with no TPTM account — so they look the same for everybody and match how they print. There is no toggle, link, or setting that makes them dark.

If you use Dark mode, you'll notice this when you open a report from inside TPTM: the report is light, and everything goes back to dark the moment you return to the app.

ℹ️ Note: Opening one of these pages does not change your own setting. Your saved choice is still Dark, and the rest of TPTM is dark again as soon as you go back to it.

Printing

Printed pages — including reports and the printable QR code page — always print in the light appearance, even if you're using Dark mode on screen. This is expected: it keeps printed pages easy to read and saves ink, and it's not a bug.
