Connect Claude to TPTM

Step-by-step setup for adding TPTM as a custom connector in Claude on the web, desktop, mobile, or in Claude Code.

Overview

You can add TPTM as a custom connector in Claude so it can look up your lots, schedules, trade partners and work orders, pull reports, and set up or change that data when you allow it. The same connection works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app and on your phone. Developers can also connect Claude Code from the terminal. Any TPTM member can set this up; the assistant never gets more access than your own TPTM role allows.

Getting the TPTM server URL

  1. In TPTM, open Settings from the sidebar navigation.

  2. Click AI Connectors.

  3. Under Connect an AI assistant, click Copy next to the server URL. It ends in /mcp.

How to connect Claude on the web, desktop or mobile

  1. In Claude, open Settings and click Connectors.

  2. Click Add custom connector.

  3. Enter TPTM as the name and paste the server URL you copied.

  4. Click Add, then click Connect on the new TPTM connector.

  5. Claude opens TPTM in your browser. If you are signed out, sign in first.

  6. On the Connect Claude to TPTM page, choose your Organization if you belong to more than one.

  7. Set a level for each access category, or click a preset such as Read-only or Everything my role allows.

  8. Click Approve. You are returned to Claude, and the connector shows as connected.

ℹ️ Plan requirement: custom connectors are available on Claude plans that support them. If you do not see Add custom connector, check your Claude plan.

How to use TPTM in a Claude chat

  1. Start a new chat in Claude.

  2. Open the tools menu in the message box and turn on the TPTM connector.

  3. Ask your question in plain language — for example "Which of my lots have overdue tasks?", "Put lot 17 on hold from Monday because of weather." or "Set up the Willow Creek community with 24 lots."

How to connect Claude Code (for developers)

  1. In a terminal, run claude mcp add --transport http tptm <server URL>, replacing <server URL> with the URL you copied from the AI Connectors page.

  2. The first time Claude Code uses TPTM it opens your browser. Sign in if asked.

  3. The Connect … to TPTM page shows a yellow notice that the app is running on your computer. That is expected for Claude Code.

  4. Choose your organization and access, then click Approve.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Connectors belong to your Claude account, so once TPTM is connected it is available in Claude on the web, in the desktop app and in the mobile app. Claude Code is separate: it is connected from the terminal and shows up in TPTM as its own connector.

Claude only sees the tools for the access categories you granted, and only the ones your TPTM role allows. In TPTM, go to Settings → AI Connectors, click Edit access on the Claude connector and raise the level for the category you need. If the level is not offered, your role does not include that permission — ask your administrator. Also check that the TPTM connector is turned on in the chat's tools menu.

The connector was revoked on the AI Connectors page (by you or by a member who can manage members), you were removed from the organization, or the connector went unused for 30 days. Click Connect on the TPTM connector in Claude's Connectors settings and approve it again. Connecting again updates your existing connector rather than creating a second one.

In TPTM, go to Settings → AI Connectors, find the Claude connector under Your connectors and click Edit access. Change the levels and click Save; the change applies from Claude's next request. To cut off access entirely, click Revoke.

Each connector works in one organization — the one you chose under Organization when you approved it. If you belong to several organizations and want Claude to work in another one, connect TPTM again and pick that organization on the Connect Claude to TPTM page.

That notice appears when the app connecting to TPTM is on your own device rather than a website — which is normal for Claude Code. Approve it only if you just started the connection yourself from an app you trust on this computer. If you did not, click Deny.
