Communities

View, create, and manage the communities where your lots are built.

Overview

Communities let you group lots together so they can share common settings like trade partner assignments. The Communities page gives you a quick overview of every community in your organization.

Click Communities in the sidebar to open the list. You'll see a table with the following columns:

Column

Description

Visibility

Name

The community name

Always visible

Brand

The builder brand the community belongs to

Hidden if all communities share the same brand, or on smaller screens

Lots

Hidden on mobile

Use the search bar at the top of the table to filter communities by name or brand. Click any row to open that community's detail page.

ℹ️ Tip: Community pages are pre-loaded in the background so they open instantly when you click.

How to Create a Community

  1. Navigate to the Communities page.

  2. Click the Create button in the top-right corner.

  3. Fill in the community details:

    • Builder Brand β€” select the brand this community belongs to.

    • Name β€” enter the community name (required).

    • Address β€” enter the street address, city, state, and zip code.

    • Location β€” optionally drop a pin on the map. See Community and Lot Locations.

  4. Click Save.

After saving, you can open the new community to assign trade partners and add lots.

ℹ️ Note: You need the Community create permission to see the Create button. Contact your administrator if it is missing.

How to Edit a Community

To edit an existing community:

  1. Click on the community in the list to open its detail page.

  2. Click Edit (or open the Tools menu and select Edit).

  3. Update the community name, brand, address, location, or file folder link.

  4. Click Save.

While editing, you can also manage Trade Partner Assignments for the community by clicking the trade partners button inside the editor.

Community Location

Each community can be pinned to a spot on the map, separately from its address. The pin adds a Location map to the community's detail page, and it decides where the map opens when you pin the lots inside it β€” so setting it early saves time on every lot.

To set it, open the community, click Edit, and scroll to the Location section below the address fields. See Community and Lot Locations for the full walkthrough.

Each community can have a file folder link that provides quick access to shared documents stored in an external service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or SharePoint.

To add a file folder link:

  1. Open the community and click Edit.

  2. Find the File Folder Link field.

  3. Paste the URL to your external folder.

  4. Click Save.

Once set, a View Files button will appear on the community page, opening the linked folder in a new tab.

Archiving a Community

If a community is no longer active, you can archive it from the edit drawer. Archived communities are hidden from the main list to keep your workspace tidy.
