Lot Schedule Holds

Record when construction on a lot is paused with a schedule hold, so build days and reports only count the time work was actually under way.

Overview

A schedule hold records a period when construction on a lot is paused — waiting on a permit, weather, materials, or anything else that stops work. Holds are managed from the lot's page, appear wherever the lot's timeline is shown, and the days a lot spends on hold are left out of its build days. Project managers and builder admins use holds to keep schedules and build-time reports honest about when work was really happening.

  • See every past and current hold on a lot, with its dates and reason.

  • Create a hold with a start date, an optional end date, and a reason.

  • Edit or end a hold, or delete one that was entered by mistake.

How to view a lot's holds

  1. Open the lot's page.

  2. Open the Tools menu and choose View Holds.

  3. The Schedule Holds panel opens on the right. It lists every hold on the lot, earliest first, with its start and end dates and its reason. A hold that has not ended shows Present in place of an end date.

If the lot has never had a hold, the panel reads No schedule holds for this lot.

How to create a hold

  1. On the lot's page, open the Tools menu and choose View Holds.

  2. Click Add New Hold.

  3. Pick a Start date.

  4. Pick an End date, or leave it empty if you do not know yet when work will resume.

  5. Type a Reason.

  6. Click Create. The new hold appears in the list.

ℹ️ Note: A lot can only have one active hold at a time. While a hold is active, Add New Hold is disabled.

How to edit or end a hold

  1. On the lot's page, open the Tools menu and choose View Holds.

  2. Click the menu on the hold and choose Edit.

  3. Change the Start date, End date, or Reason. To end a hold that is still open, pick the End date work resumed.

  4. Click Save.

How to delete a hold

  1. On the lot's page, open the Tools menu and choose View Holds.

  2. Click the menu on the hold and choose Delete.

  3. Check the hold period shown in the Delete Lot Hold dialog, then click Delete.

Where holds show up

  • Lot page: while a hold is active, a yellow banner shows the hold's start date and reason, and the lot carries an On Hold tag next to its name and in the community's lot list.

  • Lot activity: the Lot Activity timeline shows a Hold entry with the reason, the date range, and how many days it lasted.

  • Overall timeline and Trade partner timeline: the lot's day cells are shaded yellow on hold days. Hover a shaded day to see the hold's date range.

  • Lot Stage Report: weeks with a hold are masked grey, and the cell tooltip lists the hold.

  • Build Days: days covered by finished holds are subtracted from the lot's build days, and a lot that is currently on hold shows N/A.
